70% is direct grants. The remaining allocation supports training, opportunity access, verification, safeguarding, monitoring, payment costs and audit.
We would rather show it than pretend a fund runs on nothing.

Who can apply
Six criteria. All of them, not most.

African nationality or heritage
Continent and diaspora both. Heritage matters more than postcode.

Demonstrable track record
Results, releases, shipped product, customers. Proven potential, not untested ideas.

A specific, costed barrier
What is blocking progress, and exactly what it costs to remove.
04
A change the grant can make
Decisive within twelve months, not a contribution to an open-ended plan.

Willing to be verified
Quarterly progress reporting, and being counted in the public numbers.
06
Aged 16 or over
Under 18 requires guardian consent and additional safeguarding.
Not eligible
- Debt repayment or refinancing
- Costs already incurred before the award
- Political campaigning
- Anything the beneficiary cannot legally receive
- BoxOutAfrica staff, panel members and their families

Answered before you ask.
Is this an investment?
No. Contributions are gifts — no equity, interest or financial return. You receive recognition, reporting and verified outcomes.
What if the round misses $500,000?
The allocation percentages hold and the cohort shrinks — roughly one beneficiary per $10,000. The revised number is published. Nothing is redirected.
What if it is oversubscribed?
The excess extends the round past 50 or opens Round 002 early. Partners are told which before their contribution is applied.
How is this different from a campaign?
Fund Talent backs one person you pick. BoxOutFund pools capital, applies a scored selection process, and spreads it across 50 people with one reporting line back to you.
Who decides who gets funded?
A panel scoring against a published rubric. Partners hold panel seats but cannot direct an award to a named individual.
Can we fund a specific discipline or country?
Yes, from Strategic Partner up. Restrictions are agreed in writing first and reported against separately.
Can we contribute in kind?
Yes. Equipment, software, access, travel and professional hours are valued at cost and recognised at the equivalent tier.
Is it tax deductible?
Not automatically — BOXOUT AFRICA LTD is a company, not a charity. Where a partner needs a charitable route, we can discuss a partner foundation.
What do beneficiaries owe?
Nothing financially. They use the money as agreed and report progress quarterly for twelve months.
